We’ve found some of the best camping blankets that will keep you toasty during your adventures. These blankets can help you stay comfortable and make the most of each camping season.
Let’s get started!
What Is a Camping Blanket?
A camping blanket is a stylish blanket with a design that’s ideal for camping. These blankets are mostly made from water-repellent down insulation and a ripstop nylon shell. T
hey’re the perfect blanket for snuggling up and keeping warm while sitting around the campfire with fellow campers.
The nylon material is easy to clean, so you won’t have to worry about getting dirt and other gunk off at the end of your adventures.
These blankets are also very lightweight and easy to store when not in use. You can bring your camping blanket with you on any adventure without it weighing you down.
Why Do People Use Camping Blankets?
Camping blankets are extremely warm, lightweight, and easy to store. They’re much more convenient, comfortable, and easy to use than a regular old sleeping bag.
Whether you’re settling in for the night to sleep or snuggling up with a loved one around the campfire, a camping blanket is a perfect way to keep warm.
The temperatures can sometimes be unpredictable, no matter where you’re camping. Even if you’re camping in the desert, the nighttime temperatures can quickly drop.
Camping blankets are good to have on hand because you may not realize your campsite’s elevation when making a reservation or planning your route. Temperatures at higher elevations can be very different than at lower elevations, and you’ll be glad you have a camping blanket handy.

What We Don’t: Storing this blanket can be tricky as the pouch is sewn into the blanket itself. The slippery material of the blanket makes it want to come apart and not stay folded.

What We Don’t: While we love the waterproof side of the blanket, the sherpa is a bit lacking. We’d love to see Oceas beef up the thickness of the sherpa material, which would help the blanket be a bit warmer.

What We Like: We love any opportunity to support the national parks. The blanket doesn’t just look nice, but it performs well too. Whether you want to be cozy around the campfire or stay warm throughout the night, you can support the national parks and stay comfortable at the same time.
What We Don’t: The nylon on these blankets is very slick and makes it difficult to use as a throw blanket without holding onto it. It tends to slide off your legs if you’re not actively holding onto it.
Is a Camping Blanket Worth It?
Having a quality camping blanket on hand is always worth it. You never know when you’ll need to grab it to stay warm or make sitting on the ground more comfortable.
We’ve often found having a camping blanket to be incredibly helpful. We keep one in our truck to allow us to find fun spots to pull over and enjoy the view while we’re exploring. Once we get back to the campsite, it’s nice to pull out and wrap around us while we sit by the fire and chat about our day.
