If you’ve been around RVs long enough, you’ve heard of the RV empire Thor Industries. Just a walk around the campground. You’ll see Thor manufactures the majority of the campers and motorhomes.

These vehicles include Cruiser RV Stryker toy haulers, a KZ Durango fifth wheels, and Tiffin Phaeton Class A motorhomes. Thor also makes its own line of Class B camper vans.

These are the smallest motorized RVs and are convenient for solo travelers or couples who want to get in and out of places without problems.

Let’s take a look at the Thor Class B lineup, and then you can decide if one of these units is right for your travels.

About Thor Industries

Thor Industries is one of the mega-giants of the RV industry. When Wade Thompson and Peter Orthwein purchased Airstream in 1980, Thor Industries was born.

The company’s next purchase was in 1982 when the Canadian company General Coach also became part of the Thor family. In 1984, Thor Industries became a public company, and in 1986, Forbes named the company the sixth on its “200 Best Small Companies In America” list.

Since the 80s, Thor has acquired numerous brands, including Dutchmen, Keystone, and CrossRoads. Its family of brands is the world’s largest manufacturer of recreational vehicles.

If you own an RV or keep up with RV news, you know the name Thor Industries because of how popular their brands are. You’ll also know how many different companies they own.

What RV Brands Does Thor Industries Own?

The most recent addition to Thor’s family of RV brands was Tiffin in December 2020. AirXcel – a leading supplier of OEM and aftermarket RV parts and accessories – was the last brand to join the Thor family in September 2021.

To date, Thor Industries owns 17 North American RV manufacturers. There are also 14 other North American brands, 16 European caravan manufacturers, and five other European companies.

The North American RV brands include Entegra, Jayco, DRV Luxury Suites, and Highland Ridge RV. Other North American companies under Thor’s umbrella include Aqua-Hot, Dicor, MaxxAir, and Togo.

About the Thor Class B Models

Thor has its own Motor Coach company that includes Class A, B, and C motorized RVs.

Its camper vans allow owners to easily maneuver in and out of grocery store parking lots, national parks, and big cities while giving dry campers more options for off-road, remote travel. All the Thor Class B options come with a private kitchen, bathroom, and bed.

Where Are Thor Class B Vans Manufactured?

Tours are available at Thor factory locations in Elkhart, Bristol, and Wakarusa, Indiana.

Like so many other RV manufacturers, Thor Industries has its home in the “RV Capital of the World.” Plant 240 in Bristol makes the Sequence, Tellaro, Rize, Scope, Sanctuary, and Tranquility Class B vans.

The Compass AWD and Gemini AWD are manufactured in Plant 750 in Elkhart. If you’d like to schedule a tour, everyone in your party must be 7 years old or older and wear closed-toe shoes and safety glasses. There’s to be no photography or videography.
