About Tiffin Motorhomes

Tiffin Motorhomes began in 1972 as Bob Tiffin took an interest in the RV industry after decades of working at the Tiffin Supply Company. The Tiffin Supply Company was a family-owned business that sold everything people needed to build a house.

Tiffin remained a family-owned business as all three of Bob’s sons joined the company. In 2020, Thor Industries acquired Tiffin Motorhomes, and it became another brand associated with the Thor family of companies.

About the Tiffin Allegro

The Tiffin Allegro has six lineups, ranging from the Allegro Bay Super C to the giant Allegro Bus at 45 feet in length.

Tiffin manufactures the Phaeton, the Zephyr motorhomes, the Cabana Class B van, and the Wayfarer Class C. Tiffin also owns the Vanleigh fifth wheel brand.

The Allegro Breeze is the smallest Class A rear diesel engine on the market. The Open Road Allegro was Tiffin’s first motorhome and is a favorite of first-time RV owners. The Allegro Bus offers the most space and is an excellent option for full-time travelers.

Where are Tiffin Allegros Made?

The Tiffin Allegro manufacturing plant is in Red Bay, Alabama. They also produce motorhomes in Belmont, Mississippi. They make smaller Wayfarer Class C units in Winfield, Alabama.

The Tiffin Allegro Lineup

The Tiffin Allegro lineup ranges from 33 feet, 2 inches, to 45 feet. Some models come with an additional half bath, while others feature bunk beds.

Most brands have multiple floorplans, so you can find the unit that best fits your needs.

Allegro Breeze

Only one floorplan means fewer options with the Tiffin Allegro Breeze. The Breeze 33 BR features a rear bedroom with a king bed, a full bathroom across from the kitchen, a television with an optional fireplace, a sofa bed, and a booth dinette.

You can replace the booth dinette with a workstation. This unit is on a PowerGlide rear engine diesel chassis and has a Cummins B6.7 340 HP diesel engine, 8.0Kw Onan quiet diesel generator, and a Valid air leveling system.

Allegro Red 340

The Allegro Red 340 has only two floorplans. The Red 340 33 LL features a rear king bed, full bathroom and kitchen in the rig’s center, and a flip-and-fold sofa bed with theater seating across from a booth dinette behind the cab.

There’s an optional drop-down bunk over the cab. The Red 340 38 LL also has that feature. This model has a large rear bathroom, king bed, and half bath next to the kitchen. The living space includes theater seating, a flip-and-fold sofa bed, and a booth dinette along the driver’s side of the coach.

It is on a Freightliner XCS straight rail chassis. The Allegro Red 340 models have a Truma AquaGo Comfort instant water heater, a Valid air leveling system, and Cummins B6.7 340 HP diesel engine.

Allegro Red 360

The Tiffin Allegro Red 360 has three floorplans. The Red 33 AA features a sofa bed, recliner, and booth dinette behind the cab. It has additional living space with a second sofa.

The Red 38 KA is built with bunk beds to accommodate the needs of a family with children. The Red 37 BA and 38 KA have a half bath near the kitchen and a full bathroom in the rear.

It’s on a Freightliner XCM modular rail chassis. The Allegro Red 360 lineup has a Cummins B6.7 360 HP diesel engine, 8.0Kw Onan quiet diesel generator, and an air ride suspension system.

Open Road Allegro

The Open Road Tiffin Allegro has five floorplans. The Open Road 36 UA and the Open Road 32 FA feature bunk beds in addition to the rear main bedroom.

The 36 UA and the Open Road 36 LA have a half bath in the living area and a full bathroom in the rear. Four models feature a booth dinette and ultra leather flip-and-fold sofa bed behind the cab.

Resting on a Ford F-53 Super Duty chassis, the Open Road Allegro lineup has a Ford V8 7.3L 350 HP gas engine, hydraulic leveling jacks, and a Truma water heater.

Allegro Bus

The Tiffin Allegro Bus has four floorplans. Three models include a half bath in the living space and a full rear ensuite. The same three models feature opposing sofas behind the cab.

All units have a king bed in the rear and a dinette with a computer workstation in the kitchen, perfect for travelers who work remotely. It’s sitting on a PowerGlide rear-engine diesel chassis.

The Allegro Bus has an air ride suspension system, a 10.0Kw Onan quiet diesel generator, and a Cummins L9 450 HP diesel engine.

Allegro Bay

The Allegro Bay is Tiffin’s first Super C model. Available in two floorplans, the Allegro Bay can replace the booth dinette with a computer workstation or a dining bar.

The 38 AB features a larger living space with two sofa beds, and the 38 BB has a more oversized rear ensuite and a half bath. Both come with the standard bunk above the cab area.

With a Freightliner S2RV chassis, this Super C has a Cummins B6.7 360 HP diesel engine, a Truma AquaGo Comfort instant water heater, and a 12,000lb tow capacity.

Is Tiffin Allegro a Good Motorhome?

Tiffin is a well-respected brand in the RV industry. The Allegro models are the least expensive of the Class A coaches, as the Phaeton and Zephyr lineups are more luxurious, high-end units.

How Many Miles Per Gallon Does a Tiffin Allegro Bus Get?

The length and weight of the Tiffin Allegro will affect the fuel efficiency. In addition, the engine type, whether gas or diesel, will also come into play.

Generally, diesel engines get slightly more miles per gallon. A lighter, shorter motorhome also get more miles per gallon. On average, Class As ranges from 6-10 miles per gallon.
