We often see and hear others confused about RV Life Pro and RV Trip Wizard. If you’re one of them, don’t worry because you’re not alone.

With so many apps and resources for RVing, it takes a lot of work to keep them all straight. Their names all sound the same, and they often do many of the same things. RV Life Pro is one of our most-used resources while traveling.

Today, we’ll help you know the difference between the two and show you how to get the most out of them.

Let’s get started!

What Is RV Life Pro?

RV Life Pro is a subscription-based suite of resources designed to make life easier for RVers. This is an upgrade from the free version of the RV Life platform. Their website indicates they have 1.6 million members, over 20,775 campgrounds, and more than 400,000 reviews.

Upgrading from the free version to RV Life Pro has many benefits. It gives users access to RV Life Maintenance Track, RV Life App – Pro Tools, and fewer ads on the platform. However, RV Life Trip Wizard is one of the biggest perks.

What Is RV Trip Wizard?

One of the most challenging parts of RVing is planning your trip. So why make it any more complicated than it needs to be? Luckily, RV Life Trip Wizard allows you to save time, stay organized, and avoid roads that aren’t friendly to recreational vehicles.

One of the great things about this suite is that it’s useful whether you’re a full-timer or a weekend warrior. You can plan everything from multiple weekend trips throughout the camping season to cross-country adventures that last months.

Consider this resource if you need help staying organized and keeping track of everything RV-related. It can help you take the stress and anxiety out of your travels so you can enjoy yourself more.

What Does RV Life Pro Cost?

While RV Life does have a free option, their premium version costs only $65 per year. Considering all that you get and that an RV GPS can cost a few hundred dollars, it’s a steal of a deal. It’s one subscription we use enough to be a no-brainer.

We used the RV Trip Wizard to help us plan and organize the details of our trip to Alaska. It helped us manage our campground reservations and reminded us when we would need fuel along the route.

However, the feature that sold it to us was the one that helped us avoid roads that weren’t friendly to us and our truck camper. We’re able to drive with confidence and worry less about road issues.

Benefits of RV Life Pro?

If you’re on the fence about whether RV Life Pro is for you, there are some things you should consider. Let’s look at the benefits of this resource and why we think it’s a great tool.

RV Life Safe GPS

No matter what type of RV you own, you can’t trust Google or Apple Maps. They don’t consider your height, weight, or the fact that you’re a large vehicle. You must consider low clearances, tight turns, and other weight limits. Luckily, the RV Life Safe GPS comes with your subscription.

You can input the specifics for your rig and reduce the chances of experiencing a significant issue. However, we must remind you that technology isn’t perfect. You should still do some research on your route ahead of time. It’s wise to have a Plan B in case of an emergency.

Access to RV Trip Wizard

RV Trip Wizard has been a game changer for planning our routes. Keeping track of all the details of our adventures in one place is incredible. We can quickly look at where we’ve been, where we’re going, and future trips. It also makes it easy for us to find fun and unique things to do along the way.

Maintenance Tracker

Many owners need help with keeping accurate maintenance records. Luckily, RV Life Pro’s Maintenance Tracker helps make it easy. You can build a custom maintenance schedule and receive email alerts when it’s time to do essential tasks — everything from servicing your engine to cleaning your air conditioning.

Within the tracker, you can also log your expenses and fuel economy. It also makes it easy to keep track of warranties, registration, and receipts related to your rig. Having everything in one easy-to-find spot lets you stay as organized as possible.

Campground Reviews

While we often use Campendium to research campgrounds, RV Trip Wizard has a massive database of reviews. Being able to quickly and easily read reviews from other users when deciding on a campsite is extremely helpful. It helps us to avoid those sketchy campgrounds that nobody wants to camp in.

RV Life Masterclass

Want to further your knowledge on a specific area of RVing? RV Life Pro offers RV Life Masterclass. These are in-depth courses on various topics related to RVing.

You’ll get inside tips and tricks from experts when purchasing your next RV, transitioning to full-time RVing, or getting out and enjoying boondocking. If you can think of it, there’s likely a course.

There are more than 20 unique RV forums that are a part of the RV Life Community. You’ll find brand-specific groups and general groups with RVers who are friendly and knowledgeable. You’ll find everything from newbies to experts.

These can be great opportunities to connect with others who enjoy RVing. You may just find a campground friend or boondocking bestie in the group.

Is RV Life Pro Worth It?

For us, RV Life Pro is more than worth it. While some subscription-based products make promises, RV Life Pro backs them up. We regularly turn to it when planning or actively on an adventure. It’s always been there whether we want to find a unique roadside attraction or a campground.

  1. Yes and yes! As Newbies we really needed the road information and they were 100% accurate.. we booked all our reservations at their recommendations and found that sticking to the state campgrounds was indeed the best choice.

  2. Only issues I have had with RV Life Pro are keeping my maintenance log current and the gps function will only give me routes that are on interstate roads. The maintenance log issue will not allow me to update without exiting and then re-signing in to the program before allowing me to update. Not user friendly. We do not travel on interstate roads as a general rule, enjoying secondary highways much more. We have to research the route and add stops in towns not on the interstate to see the countryside.
