Camco has made the dirty job of dumping less intimidating and free of messiness with its RhinoFLEX Sewer Hose Kit. No longer will you have to dread the dump station. The various components of the kit come together to make black tank woes a thing of the past. Let’s see why.
RhinoFLEX Sewer Hose Kit Overview
- Flexible & Durable: The Rhino FLEX Camco Sewer Hose Kit, is constructed with 23 mils of durable polyolefin construction...
- Effortless Connections: Our RV Sewer Kit with swivel fittings ensures easy hookups. The transparent elbow with a 4-in-1...
The RhinoFLEX Sewer Hose Kit consists of two 10-foot sewer hoses, a transparent elbow, and four end caps. Each hose condenses down to 39 inches for easy storage. Or you can expand and connect the segments for 20 feet of hose. You can feel secure using this hose for a while, thanks to its durable polyolefin.
The clear elbow makes it simple to gauge when your tanks are empty. Because it also swivels, the hose can adapt to any sewer hookup. The whole kit costs about $40.
Why Would You Need a Sewer Hose?
Any RV with a black tank needs a sewer hose to empty that tank. The RhinoFLEX Sewer Hose Kit makes the process easy by attaching snuggly to black tank valves. Expand it out to 20 feet total and use it with a range of campsite hookups and dump stations.
Camco has also made dumping your tank stress-free, with tight-fitting connections and a clear elbow that can rotate at the sewer inlet. No longer will RVers have to guess whether their tanks are empty or pull off the hose before the process is complete. That clear section of hose will give you all the information you need.
RVers need to keep their sewer hoses separate from any freshwater they’re storing. After use, rinse out the RhinoFLEX Sewer Hose while it’s still attached to the sewer inlet. Then you can compress it and stow it away safely.
Our Favorite Features
The RhinoFLEX kit offers several unique features that make dumping your tanks a breeze. Here are a few of our favorites.
Compacts for Easy Storage
Each of the RhinoFLEX sewer hoses can expand from 39 inches to 10 feet. Plus, they can “flex,” curving to follow the trajectory from your tank valve to the sewer hookup. For those with very little storage space, the hose can collapse down after use and fit in a storage pipe on the exterior of your rig. Or keep it in the basement or storage space on bigger recreational vehicles.
End Caps Prevent Dripping When Not in Use
When not in use, you’ll have to rinse the hose thoroughly, which can mean it’s still wet when you store it. The four end caps in the RhinoFLEX Sewer Hose Kit become extremely useful in keeping your storage space dry. Just screw each end cap on and place the hose in storage without worry.
Ready-to-Use Kit
The RhinoFLEX kit comes ready to use out of the box. Campers can immediately hook up the sewer hoses, connecting them if need be. A quarter turn is all it takes to secure each connection, from the black tank valve to the sewer inlet.
Cons
The only con may come from RVers who are relatively stationary and keep their sewer hoses attached all the time. If you’re in a park that mows lawns, you’ll have to watch closely for holes and leaks. Things like weed killers commonly sprayed around can damage the hose.
One note: Most parks require the use of a sewer hose support or “slinky” to keep the hose in place and in a downhill trajectory. This ensures that gravity will pull fluids out of your tank and directly into the sewer inlet. If you’re stationary, you may need to invest in one of these as well as the kit itself.
Alternatives to the RhinoFLEX Sewer Hose Kit
Finding the right hose isn’t as simple as buying the first one you see. Check out some alternatives that may suit your needs better.
Titan RV Sewer Hose Kit
- Fit type: Universal Fit
- Included components: Titan 15-Foot Premium RV Sewer Hose Ergonomic ExtendGrip Fitting Two end caps Revolve 5-in-1 sewer...
There are many similarities between the RhinoFLEX and Titan sewer hose kits, one being the expandable hoses. The Titan also has a bayonet and lug system for hose connections. However, the Titan’s hose is shorter at 15 feet. It also lacks a clear view elbow.
The Titan includes end caps for each end of the hose, but unlike the Rhinoflex kit, these caps do not screw in but just fit into the hose ends. The $35 price point is comparable to the RhinoFLEX kit.
Camco Revolution Sewer Hose Kit
- All-In-One Kit: Provides everything you need for a quick, reliable sewer hook-up
- Fully Adaptable: Use it as either a 20-foot or 10-foot set-up
The Camco Revolution Sewer Hose Kit offers a 20-foot option similar to the Rhinoflex kit. You can connect two 10-foot hoses via the bayonet and lug mechanism. You’ll also get a 90-degree opaque elbow. The stepped end can fit into several sewer pipe sizes at the inlet, giving you more versatility for different dump stations and sewer hookups.
The Revolution also has four end caps for each of the hose ends, attaching tightly. It is not quite as thick as the Rhinoflex hose. This kit costs about $30.
Few RVers can entirely avoid the necessity of dumping their black tanks. Take the hassle out of this vital chore by choosing a sewer hose kit that can get the job done reliably and easily. What kind of sewer hose are you currently using?
