Who Is Jayco?

In 1968, Lloyd and Bertha Bontrager started Jayco, creating a camping trailer with a lift system. These pop-up campers led to the expansion of travel trailers and fifth wheels in the early 1970s. In the same decade, Jayco entered the Class C motorhome market. From the beginning, Jayco has made a name for itself in the RV industry.

Is Jayco a Good Brand?

Today, Jayco manufactures travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, Class As, Class Bs, and Class Cs. The company makes RVs for almost any type of traveler. It’s a well-known brand that’s respected among RVers. With a history of over 50 years, it has also stood the test of time as the needs of travelers and the economy have changed.

Who Owns Jayco?

Thor Industries, one of the empires of the RV world, owns 16 North American RV brands, including Jayco, Airstream, Tiffin, and Keystone. Thor Industries also owns many suppliers like Aqua-Hot, Dicor, MaxxAir, and AirXcel. In July 2016, Thor acquired Jayco for $576 million. At the time, Jayco was the world’s largest privately owned RV maker.

What Is the Jayco Pinnacle?

Jayco manufactures both towable and motorized RVs. The Jayco Pinnacle is a luxury fifth-wheel line. The 102-inch wide-body design gives owners more interior room, and the solid hardwood cabinets and GE residential appliance package mean the Jayco Pinnacle feels like home. The North Point, Eagle, and Eagle HT are the three other fifth-wheel lines made by Jayco.

The Jayco Pinnacle ranges from 36 feet 4 inches to over 44 feet. Standard exterior features include three 40-pound propane tanks, a 12-inch structural steel I-beam with a 10-inch steel drop frame, a 40,000 BTU furnace, a double layer fiberglass batt insulation on the roof and floor, a fully enclosed and heated underbelly, 120-Volt heat blankets on all tanks, and 12-Volt heat tape on the freshwater line.

Owners have the option to add upgrades such as a third 15,000 BTU ducted air conditioner, a 5,500W Onan Microquiet generator, frameless dual-pane tinted safety-glass windows, a MORryde independent suspension with 8K axles and disc brakes, solar packages, and a Truma on-demand water heater.
