The Forest River Berkshire is a line of luxury Class A motorhomes. No matter which model you choose, you’ll get a quality diesel engine and a rig that sits on a sturdy chassis. It consistently provides a smooth and enjoyable ride, which makes long travel days a breeze.

Whether planning a long-distance trip or exploring local destinations, it’s hard to top these rigs.

When you walk inside the Forest River Berkshire, you first notice the first-class finishes and high-quality materials. The attention to detail creates a residential look and feel. Adding advanced technologies, energy-efficient appliances, and high-tech entertainment systems adds to the experience.

If you prioritize luxury and comfort, the Forest River Berkshire is a great option. Luckily, it has nine floorplans. A couple enjoying their golden years or a family looking to make memories can find a model that will suit each situation.

Where Is the Forest River Berkshire Made?

As we mentioned, Forest River has its headquarters in Elkhart, Indiana. They have multiple plants in this area where they produce various recreational vehicles, including the Berkshire. However, this massive company has manufacturing facilities all over the Midwest and the West Coast.

No matter where the manufacturing occurs, rigs go through extensive testing during the process. The company selects random rigs at their 20,000-square-foot pre-delivery inspection center for further tests.

These put essential components like the electrical, plumbing, and LP systems to the test. They can correct any issues quickly to avoid widespread consumer problems.

The Forest River Berkshire Lineup

With nine floorplan options, deciding which is right can take time and effort. Let’s look at each model to help you decide. However, you can’t go wrong no matter which model you choose.

Berkshire 34B

MSRP: $405,000

Sleeps: Eight

Length: 35 feet 5 inches

Weight: 32,400 pounds

Features: The Berkshire 34B may be the smallest in the lineup, but it doesn’t disappoint. It comes loaded with convenient features.

The main bedroom lies at the rear of the coach. It features a king bed, a massive wardrobe closet, and a washer and dryer.

The only bathroom sits in the middle, which allows for middle-of-the-night bathroom runs without disturbing everyone.

This is a fantastic option for traveling couples. With a single designated sleeping space and multiple convertible options, guests have plenty of room. Forest River maximizes usable space by having a front bunk on a lift above the cockpit. And you’ll have plenty of space for everyone to spread out.

Berkshire 39A

MSRP: $400,000

Sleeps: Eight

Length: 39 feet 8 inches

Weight: 33,400 pounds

Features: The Berkshire 39A is another incredible offering from Forest River. As with many in this lineup, the 39A features a rear main bedroom. However, it features a bit more privacy and has a designated bathroom.

The opposing slides in the living room create room to move around inside the rig. And with plenty of sleeping areas, the 39A floorplan works great for larger families.

Plenty of overhead storage and hidden compartments allow you to bring just about everything with you. The pull-out counter extension ensures plenty of room for doing dishes and preparing meals.

Berkshire 40F

MSRP: $469,000

Sleeps: Nine

Length: 41 feet

Weight: 37,320 pounds

Features: The Berkshire 40F from Forest River has a much more open and spacious feel than other models. This is primarily because all the seating lies on the rig’s passenger side.

It also has bunk beds and an additional drop-down bed over the cockpit. This floorplan was designed to make it easy for a large family to travel comfortably.

While some other floor plans require users to share a single shower, the 40F includes two full bathrooms. This means the main bedroom has an entirely private space all to themselves.

This can be convenient after everyone comes home from a long day of exploring the wilderness. Cleaning up and getting ready for bed doesn’t have to be a hassle.

Berkshire XL 37A

MSRP: $488,000

Sleeps: Seven

Length: 38 feet 8 inches

Weight: 38,320 pounds

Features: If you want his-and-her sinks in your motorhome’s bathroom, the Berkshire XL 37A is your floorplan. The massive bathroom is accessible from the main living space and the bedroom. This makes it easy for everyone to use the restroom without disturbing the entire camper.

However, our favorite feature is the living space. Having the massive 49-inch TV mounted above the dinette places it directly across from the main seating area. You can choose between a queen hide-a-bed sofa or theater seating.

Whichever option you choose, you’ll have a great view of the TV for movie nights and to watch the big game.

Berkshire XL 40C

MSRP: $486,000

Sleeps: Eight

Length: 41 feet

Weight: 38,320 pounds

Features: The Forest River Berkshire XL 40C comes with 1.5 baths. The suite is at the rear of the coach, and the community half bath is in the middle. Interestingly, one of our favorite features is the bunk space. Kids of all ages will enjoy unwinding here at the end of the day.

The mid-bunks feature a hinged bunk bed. However, kids will love that each bed has its own TV. Parents don’t have to worry about kids fighting over what they’ll watch before bed or on those rainy days. Who wouldn’t love that?

Berkshire XL 40D

MSRP: $487,000

Sleeps: Eight

Length: 41 feet

Weight: 38,320 pounds

Features: The Berkshire XL 40D is the perfect rig for entertaining guests. It features a tremendous amount of seating and a conveniently located half bath. The opposing seating makes it easy to enjoy company without straining your neck.

To maximize comfort, you can replace the hide-a-bed sofa with theater seating. In addition, you can swap out the dinette for a set of tables and chairs. Whether you make new friends at the campground or bring them with you, this floorplan is ready for any gathering you want to host.
