The Best Passport America Campgrounds for 50% Off

Let’s take a look at the best Passport America campgrounds in the country. Occasionally, you’ll find a campground that is less than desirable. They’ll have few amenities if any. But these seven campgrounds may make your yearly Passport America membership worth it.

Mustang Bayou RV Park

Location: Only about twenty minutes from Houston, Mustang Bayou RV Park is in a great area. It feels rural and country, but you’ll enjoy the convenience of being close to the city and the beaches.

About: It’s open year-round and has over 70 full hook-up sites. RVs shorter than 43 ft can use back-in and pull-thru sites. Featuring a clubhouse, horseshoes, playground, laundry, and more, you’ll find yourself wanting to spend more than just a night at Mustang Bayou RV Park.

Price With Passport America Discount: The regular nightly rate is $45, so the Passport America discounted rate is only $22.50. This rate is good for two people.

The Ooak RV Park and Campground

Location: The Ooak RV Park and Campground lies across from Lake Amon Carter in Bowie, Texas. It’s only a few miles from two golf courses and a 20-minute drive to Brushy Creek Vineyards.

About: With only 22 sites, you’ll want to plan ahead and make sure they have spots available. Rigs less than 45 ft can fit in the back-in sites and pull-thru sites. You’ll find a boat ramp, convenience store, and grill on the property. Outdoor enthusiasts may enjoy staying at the Ooak RV Park and Campground.

Price With Passport America Discount: The regular nightly rate is $45, so the Passport America discounted rate is only $22.50. However, it’s not valid during Memorial Day, the 4th of July, and Labor Day weekends.

Crossbow RV Campground

Location: Jacksonville, Florida, is home to Crossbow RV Campground. If you love outdoor recreation, you’ll find hunting, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and more within a few miles of the campground. And if you want shopping and dining options, it’s only a short 5-7 minute drive to Town Center. Additionally, you can visit the beach only 35 minutes away.

About: One of the best features of this campground is the extra-large sites that can accommodate rigs up to 50 ft. But with only sixteen sites, you’ll want to make reservations early. They also offer RV storage.

Price With Passport America Discount: You have to stay a minimum of six nights to receive this discount. Additionally, it doesn’t apply during holidays and holiday weekends. The regular nightly rate is $66, so with the Passport America campgrounds discount, the rate is $33.

Elkton RV Park

Location: If you’re traveling in the Northwest, check out Elkton RV Park in Elkton, Oregon. It’s a beautiful location near the west coast on the Umpqua River. You can walk to wineries, shops, restaurants, and gardens. Many also enjoy fishing, biking, and hiking.

About: Featuring riverfront sites, laundry facilities, a pavilion, a central campfire ring, gift shop, and shuttle service, you’ll enjoy a quiet stay at Elkton RV Park. Visit the Elkton Community Education Center and enjoy 30 acres of natural beauty, tours, art exhibits, and more.

Price With Passport America Discount: The regular nightly rate is $40, so the Passport America discount makes only $20. This rate is good for two people but is not valid from April 1st through September 30th. Additionally, the Passport America rate only applies Monday through Thursday for three nights maximum in the off-season.

Lake Cahuilla

Location: Part of the Riverside Regional County Park and Open-Space District, Lake Cahuilla Veterans Regional Park is 710 acres of natural beauty. Located at the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains in the Coachella Valley, Lake Cahuilla offers an escape from California city life.

About: Lake Cahuilla offers over 75 sites. Some have partial or full hook-ups. It also features a 15-acre equestrian/group campground. Enjoy fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and swimming while taking in the beautiful scenery.

Price With Passport America Discount: The Passport America rate is $17.50 but is only valid Monday through Wednesday from November through March. The area also has a few festivals and derbies, and the Passport America rate doesn’t apply during those events.

Big Shoal RV Country

Location: In Joplin, Missouri, you’ll find Big Shoal RV Country tucked away in the Ozark Mountains. The campground boasts satellite-friendly views, so if you want to try out Starlink’s capabilities, you may enjoy this location.

About: At Big Shoal RV Country, you can enjoy the catch-and-release 10-acre stocked lake. Or you can take out your canoe or kayak. It has over 80 sites that can accommodate rigs up to 42 ft. The large concrete pads mean minimal leveling and spacious camping spots. Additionally, you can get full and partial hook-ups. Big Shoal also has a propane refill station and an RV repair and detail shop on the property.

Price With Passport America Discount: The regular nightly rate is $50, so the Passport America campgrounds rate is only $25. The rate is good for two adults and four children for three nights maximum.

Verde Ranch RV Resort

Location: Verde Ranch RV Resort in Arizona is designated as a Dark Sky Community, so it’s an excellent location for stargazers. Located in the Verde Valley, you can visit nearby wineries, breweries, shops, and restaurants. Visit a national monument or national park during your stay as well.

About: With so many campgrounds limiting the size of RVs, it’s great to see 40-ft and 60-ft back-in sites at Verde Ranch RV Resort. Featuring a heated swimming pool, two hot tubs, fitness center, activity center, and river access to the Verde River, you may never want to leave.

Price With Passport America Discount: The regular nightly rate is $52, so the Passport America discounted rate is only $26. It is not valid from January through April and only for back-in sites for a three-night maximum stay.

  1. my problem with PA is that almost all of them have severe restrictions, like only good for one night, not valid Thursday through Sunday, not valid May – September, not valid on holidays, not valid on weekends,… each location has there own particular restrictions. there are many can not use stipulations that is makes them very unusable. we have stayed at a couple, thus for the price, it isn’t terrible, just hard to use.

  2. Most campground have restrictions on the days you can use the membership and some parks aren’t well kept I want renew my membership
