About Strawberry Reservoir
Known as The Berry by local anglers, Strawberry Reservoir is Utah’s most popular fishery and a part of the Blue Ribbon Fisheries program. Located just southeast of Heber City on U.S. 40, 60 miles east of Provo, and only a 90-minute drive southeast of Salt Lake City, this is quite the popular site for locals and tourists alike.
Due to its elevation of 7600 feet, the water is often quite cold, but that doesn’t stop many people from playing in the water while fishing, jet skiing, water skiing, boating, tubing, and more. Another popular draw to this area is the crawfish, so don’t forget the crayfish trap so you can enjoy your very own crawfish boils during your Strawberry Reservoir camping adventures.
Strawberry Reservoir Camping
Within Strawberry Reservoir itself, several campgrounds are on the lake, and some even with full RV hookups. Not a campground kind of person? There are also a couple of dispersed camping areas close by. But beware, as mentioned previously, this is a popular getaway, so come prepared to be flexible when it comes to finding a boondocking spot or make sure you have your Strawberry Reservoir camping site reserved ahead of time.
Strawberry Bay Campground
Located directly on Strawberry Reservoir’s shores, Strawberry Bay Campground is a large campground that contains various campsites to accommodate all types of visitors, tents, and RVs alike. While there’s not much for shade here, the views of the lake, the rolling sagebrush, and the surrounding hillside provide everything you need to give you that piece of paradise you expect for your Strawberry Reservoir camping trip.
From sites made just for tents to sites created for the big rigs complete with full hook-ups, no matter your camping style, it’s available here. You’ll also find a group pavilion, flush toilets, drinking water, covered picnic shelters, tables, grills, and campfire rings. The boat ramp offers access to Strawberry Reservoir. Strawberry Bay Dump Station is available for your convenience here, as well.

Aspen Grove Campground
For your Strawberry Reservoir camping experience, Aspen Grove Campground is located at 7,700 feet near Soldier Creek Dam above the reservoir’s Soldier Creek section. With many sites shaded naturally from the forested region, this campground offers a bit of seclusion from the crowds that love to play in the water.
Aspen Grove Campground has various spots available for tents and RVs 40 feet and less, including single-family and double family units. Flush toilets, electricity at some sites, and drinking water are provided. And it is a mere half-mile away from the Marina where the Strawberry Hill bike trail starts. Play outdoors to your heart’s content at this Strawberry Reservoir camping site, but your indoor play on your cell phone might be a bit limited, if available at all.

Soldier Creek Campground
Located right next to Strawberry Reservoir, Soldier Creek Campground is big rig friendly and offers a large group overnight pavilion site and many single and double family sites.
A few sites have beautiful pines and aspens to give you much-needed shade from the summer heat. Although you can find shaded spots here, the most sought after locations are right on the reservoir without much shade. This issue has been solved with covered picnic tables and windscreens for your enjoyment of this beautiful reservoir.
While the amenities may be limited at Soldier Creek, with no electric, water, or sewer hookups and no showers, there are flush toilets and a dump station on-site for an extra fee. But the most important amenity is the easy access to Strawberry Reservoir.

Renegade Campground
Renegade Campground is also located on the reservoir’s shores with easy access to all the water fun. The campground offers several single and double-family campsites. Flush toilets and drinking water are provided, but there is no electricity and limited cell service if any. You won’t find much shade here, but with sagebrush-covered hills, scenic vistas, and a lake to play in, you may not even notice.
Although there are also no showers, and it is best for mid-size and smaller rigs, Renegade Boat Ramp makes up for all of that, offering comfortable and direct access to the reservoir. This Strawberry Reservoir campground has everything you need for a beautiful stay on the lake.

Mud Creek Road Dispersed Camping
Free-range cattle and sheep will greet you upon your entrance to Mud Creek Road Dispersed Camping. With wide-open spaces for rigs of all sizes, reports of good cell service, free water and trash at the campground entrance, and less than five miles to the Marina, this free campsite gives you the best of paradise: free camping and lakeside access.

Clyde Creek Road Dispersed Camping
Another free camping spot close to Strawberry Reservoir gives you easy access to the reservoir, along with creekside camping. While the road is gravel, reports online have shown it to be in good condition with no huge ruts or bumps. There is space for plenty of big rigs, some cell service (although patchy), and the campground is quiet and peaceful. It sounds like a beautiful spot to enjoy some Strawberry Reservoir camping off-grid.
