Let’s get started!
About Mammoth Overland Trailers
Mammoth Overland Trailers provides one of the market’s most compact and affordable overlanding trailers. Not only are they budget-friendly, but they’re capable too.
According to their website, they believe “the outdoors are something that should be explored by everyone.” They want to make it simple and affordable.
Aerospace engineers build these campers, and when you have built airplanes and worked in aeronautics, you don’t take shortcuts. They provide a quality finished product built to handle just about whatever you throw at it.
Who Owns Mammoth Overland Trailers?
Mammoth Overland is a sister company of Vashon Aircraft, owned by Dr. John Torode. He’s the founder and CEO, but this isn’t his first company. He’s a serial entrepreneur when it comes to aviation companies.
Dr. Torode has a physics degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M.S. in physics, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Washington. It’s safe to say he’s well-educated and knows a thing or two.
About Vashon Aircraft
Vashon Aircraft has been building a two-seater airplane called the Ranger R7 since 2015. They’re based out of Woodinville, Washington, and their goal has always been to make versatile and user-friendly aircraft.
These aircraft have become very popular with flight schools and those looking for an entry-level aircraft. Just like getting outdoors, Vashon Aircraft doesn’t want affordability to get in the way.
Then they caught the outdoor adventure bug and realized they could use their skills to build overlanding trailers. When looking at the Mammoth Overland trailers, you can see where they’ve used their previous aeronautic experience.
What Types of RVs Does Mammoth Overland Trailers Make?
Currently, Mammoth Overland offers a single overland trailer, which you can customize. However, we previously reported on their ELE (extinction-level event) trailer.
It featured some of the most sophisticated systems to help ensure you could survive an apocalypse-like event. It featured air purifiers, weapon storage, and so much more.
Overall, Mammoth Overland prides itself on being off-road capable. They build their campers to the same standards as their airplanes. As a result, their trailers differ from any others you’ll see on the market.
Reasons to Choose Mammoth Overland Trailers
You should consider these campers for several different reasons. Let’s look at some of the most significant features people love about them.
From the factory, Mammoth Overland Trailers come with a 100 aH AGM battery, a 1 Kilowatt inverter, and a connection for solar power. Just plug in a solar panel or two, park in a sunny spot and harness power from the sun to run your electronics and start enjoying off-grid life
Furthermore, Mammoth Overland offers some optional upgrades to enhance your off-grid capabilities. You can pay to have them increase your battery bank or install solar panels at the factory.
How many camper manufacturers allow you to select a custom wrap for your camper? Very few provide this option. However, Mammoth Overland enables you to work with a designer to build the wrap for your trailer and make it yours.
Have a brand or logo you want to include? Go for it! If you choose this upgrade, you can guarantee no other rig on the road will look like yours.
Just because the Mammoth Overland is small doesn’t mean you’ll have to starve. The outside kitchen has a two-burner stove and an electric cooler that also functions as a fridge.
It may take some adjusting, but you can make incredible meals in this tiny outdoor kitchen. It’s the first to swing out and drastically increase your space to get the job done.

Nearly Unlimited Off-Road Potential
Mammoth Overland Trailers are just that, overland trailers. They’re built for off-roading and handling the bumps and dips in the road. It can take just about anything with its 19 inches of clearance, beefy 31-inch tires, and Timbren suspension.
If you dream of getting out into a remote area and enjoying peace and quiet, this is how to do it. You can easily reach some of the most remote spots and stay comfortable once you get there.
While you’d expect such a capable camper to come with a hefty price tag, that’s not necessarily the case.
A fully equipped Mammoth Overland comes in just under $30,000. While we understand this isn’t a tiny sum, it’s less expensive than most others. Similar models come in at around $50,000 to $75,000.
It’s important to note that their standard options make it budget-friendly. Some upgrades can quickly increase this price. Remember that custom wrap we mentioned earlier? It comes with a $5,000 price tag. So, as you can see, some upgrades can make them less affordable.
