Don’t worry, this place is nothing like its name portrays! Devil’s Den is a prehistoric spring with crystal clear water and perfect 72 degree water temperatures. It was dubbed Devil’s Den because on cold winter mornings you can see steam rising from the circular opening. The spring has a maximum depth of 54 feet and is open to both snorkeling and scuba diving. We actually camped onsite for the week but they are open daily to visitors.

We spent one morning snorkeling inside the spring with a handful of other tourists. We saw fish, turtles, and five scuba divers exploring the bottom of the spring. If you want to get scuba certified, they also offer classes here as well! Whether you’re snorkeling or scuba diving, we recommend getting there early. They only allow a certain number of people in the spring at once, meaning the later you get there, the further down on the wait list you’ll be.

Devil’s Den also offers snorkeling gear rentals for $10 a person. It’s important to note if you do rent gear, you only get two hours in the spring. If you’d rather not put a used snorkel in your mouth or don’t want a time limit in the spring, we found this great snorkeling kit on Amazon for you.

When you’re done snorkeling, there’s still plenty to do on the property! Bring a lunch to eat at one of the picnic tables (there is a food truck on the weekends if you don’t want to bring anything). They have ladder golf, corn hole, and tether ball if you’re feeling active; or if you’d rather relax then we’d suggest checking out the heated pool. We also discovered an awesome walking path that immediately immerses you in nature.

Needless to say, you can spend a fun filled day at Devil’s Den. We truly enjoyed our week here and recommend it to anyone passing through the Northern Florida area. We’ve included all of their information below if you want to check them out!
