Why Do People Soak In Hot Springs?

Hot springs aren’t just relaxing. There are health benefits to soaking in these thermal waters because of the rich minerals. Hot springs increase circulation and boost oxygen flow. These waters can also help alleviate pain in joints and muscles and increase flexibility. Often, people with skin disorders or irritations will soak in hot springs because of the elevated levels of sulfur that have antifungal and antibacterial properties to soothe and heal the skin.

Although, because of the high temperatures of hot springs, you shouldn’t soak too long. We suggest enjoying a bath for 15-20 minutes at a time. Riverbend Hot Springs offers 50-minute sessions and one-hour passes. While you might be tempted to stay in the pool for the entire time, we recommend enjoying the other amenities during your visit after you soak for 20 minutes or so. The eight common pools maintain a temperature of 95 to 108 degrees.
