What Is Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day was initially started in 2015 to celebrate Amazon’s 20th company anniversary. It was such a success it has now turned into a 48-hour sale twice a year, where people can snag the best deals on their favorite products.

In addition to the 48-hour sale, there are deals offered the week before and after Prime Day. You’ll also hear the term “Lightning Deals,” which are typically deeply discounted items offered for a very short period of time.

What Do You Need to Participate in Prime Day?

To participate in Amazon Prime Day, you have to be an Amazon Prime member. If you’ve never tried Prime before, you will receive a 30-day free trial. After that, the membership is only $14.99 a month.

Signing up for Amazon Prime is easy. All you have to do is go to the Amazon Prime sign-up page and enter your information. Once you’ve created an account, you’ll enter your credit card information and start your 30-day trial period.

Once your 30 days are up, Amazon will automatically charge you $14.99 each month.

Pro Tip: Sign-up for the Amazon Prime free trial to get great deals during Amazon Prime Day, and then cancel your membership. (Do this only if you won’t be using Amazon in the future; otherwise, it’s a great membership!)

How Does Prime Day Work?

As mentioned earlier, Prime Day starts at 12 a.m. PDT. At that time exactly, you will see available deals offered by Amazon on their website.

Some of these deals will extend through the 48 hours, while others may have a limited-time special or only be available in specific quantities.

Additionally, don’t forget about those Lightning Deals, which will only be available for a few hours or until sold out!

As long as you have Amazon Prime, you will be able to shop all of their deals (and receive their standard free shipping on every order!)

What Will Be On Sale During Prime Day 2023?

We don’t know exactly what will be on sale, as Amazon does not announce that information in advance. We can, however, look at previous Amazon Prime Day sales and make a few assumptions.

They will have sales ranging from every product category like beauty, electronic, outdoor, home, automotive, and much more.
